Instruments for Vision
Project Summary
Our relationship with Instruments for Vision, a long-time leader in ophthalmic imaging, began in mid-2005 when the company asked that we design and develop a new site that would effectively market and promote their cameras, upgrade adapters, software, slit lamps and other ophthalmic equipment and technology.
The site that we designed for Instruments for Vision adhered to client specifications, including a fluid-width design, 3-column layout, and light-blue body, while also taking care to build this site with standards-compliant XHTML and aesthetics driven by CSS (Cascading Stylesheets).
Post project completion, our studio has continued to provide Instruments for Vision with content management solutions, and in the Spring of 2006 the company began discussing with us their interest in developing a digital visual acuity testing solution. They intended to market this proposed solution to optometrists and ophthalmologists who would use the technology to perform visual acuity testing of their patients.
Our studio found itself in unchartered waters, but interested and intrigued by our client's proposal. After spending considerable time examining similar products offered by Instrument's competition, as well as researching visual acuity and related concepts, we proposed that the ultimate solution, which we termed "Digital Acuity Solution" (DAS), be web browser based.
After three months of development and testing, DAS was born, and is now being sold worldwide by Instruments for Vision.
